Dear UMass Amherst:

an excerpt from the personal statement i just submitted on my grad school app for University Massachusetts Amherst:

In the last four years, I have faced seven Latin and four Ancient Greek authors, 8 AM Latin classes, an intensive Latin Prose Composition course, an Illiad translation course where I was the only student, a semester where I took five Classics courses simultaneously, and after all that I still voluntarily run two-hour tutoring sessions three times a week where I routinely face three classes worth of Latin and Greek 100 students asking questions like “What’s the difference between a noun and a verb?”.

You would be hard-pressed to find an applicant more devoted to the Classics than I have been.

Let's see those other Classics peons top THAT.
