to the future

Congratulations on making it to 2014, flist!

It's been a pretty big year, actually, in terms of life change, and even though change is usually my hated enemy, I feel like I'm on the whole happier than I was a year ago, and the changes that I made were needed and good.

this past year I:
*started growing my hair back out
*wrote ~60 fics (I'm not sure since the website isn't updated properly)
*crocheted a million blankets bc people won't quit having babies and getting married
*got rid of an absolute ton of stuff hoarded in my apartment
*lost a guinea pig and the 15yo family dog
*applied to a PhD program (gonna be months till i find out uuuuugh)
*got confessed to and accepted her feelings
*fell in love
*asked her to move across the country to move in with me ♥

About half of those things would have been essentially unbelievable to me this time last year, but they happened anyway and I'm glad. Both my Aries and Dog horoscopes for the upcoming year say it's all about change this year, which I can certainly believe since I'll be living with somebody for the first time in my adult life starting in February, but as it turns out I'm kind of excited. Maybe it'll be scary some of the time and sort of a struggle at others, but that's so doable when it comes with good stuff too. Apparently horse years are great for dogs, and also Venus and the moon are in the house of 'get your longterm romantic shit together' so let's get this show on the road.

this year i hope to write a little more and maybe not blow NaNo again, to start graduate classes hopefully, to keep working on downsizing stuff now that the big pushes are over, and to figure out how to be a decent roommate despite having no real-world practice at that.

Hope you guys are excited for the new year too. Thank you for taking care of me and let's be friends next year too ♥
